UQ alumnus Mr Andrew Liveris and his wife Mrs Paula Liveris contributed the historic gift of $13.5 million and spearheaded the effort to provide $40 million in funding, allowing the establishment of the Liveris Academy at the newly built St. Lucia Brisbane campus.

The new UQ Andrew N Liveris building focus is to address the sustainability challenges facing our world by providing an opportunity to teach and develop future generations of leaders who might otherwise have had limited access to higher education.

A collaboration between Lyons and m3architecture, the Hanson Yuncken built 11-storey development focuses on highly efficient use of energy and water. Inspired by the school’s open and collaborative culture, the open plan offers an energy-efficient façade courtesy of the unique glass skin and energy-intensive areas are offset by the roof energy renewable energy photovoltaics.

With elevated and suspended meeting pods, interconnecting staircases and the glazed central atrium spanning over 22,000m2, the state-of-the-art building will continue to inspire students, scholars, staff and industry partners well into the future.

Having been selected to provide such specialised solutions as VAV terminal units, volume control dampers and an offering of air movement solutions, Shapeair is proud to have been chosen as a delivery partner for the UQ Andrew N Liveris project.
